Spicy ginger beer is poured over ice and topped with a Bermuda dark rum floater. This national drink of Bermuda is now seen on the menus of many East Coast port cities by way of the sailing community. Krista Jerome, bartender at Tavern on the Water in Boston, Massachusetts demonstrates her pitcher version of this cocktail, serving 4-6 (or, one very thirsty individual).
Ingredients
- ice to fill pitcher
- 2 cans ginger beer (12 oz each)
- 6 oz dark rum (Goslings suggested)
Suggested Garnish
- lime wedges
How-to
- Fill pitcher (that holds about 8 cups) full with ice
- Pour both cans of ginger beer over the ice
- Float dark rum on top
- Garnish with lime wedges if desired
