Spicy, juicy and kicked up with jalapeño, this is one of the best burgers you'll ever eat. So good, it's named after its creator, Chef Ronie Bicalho, at the Miracle of Science Bar & Grill.
Makes 10 burgers
Ingredients
- 5 lbs ground beef
- 8 oz chopped jalapeno
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 10 slices pepper jack cheese
- 10 hamburger buns
Condiments
- lettuce
- tomato
- ketchup
Roasted Potatoes
- 4 potatoes, sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 1 red onion, sliced
- olive oil
- salt
How-to
The Burgers
- Form ten ½ lb burger patties
- Grill burgers 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare (Ronie recommends medium-rare for the best burger)
- Toast bun at 350º for 5 minutes
- Garnish with lettuce, tomato and ketchup
The Roasted Potatoes
Step 1:
- Preheat oven to 350º
- Slice 4 potatoes into bite-sized pieces and place on cookie sheets
- Drizzle olive oil over potatoes and coat them evenly with your hands
- Salt the potatoes
- Roast for 2 hours at 350º
Step 2:
- Coat pan with canola oil
- Saute 1 sliced red onion
- Add to the roasted potatoes and serve
